Art Cinema OFFoff is organizing an introductory workshop 3D printing, covering the process from model to print, designed for people with little or no experience in 3D printing.
- Design: How do you create your own model, or where can you find existing models? What is printable and what is not?
- Slicing: How do you prepare a model for printing? Explanation of slicer software and the key parameters.
- Printing: How does a printer work? What should you pay attention to, and what problems might arise? Overview of different types of printers and filaments (printing materials).
We’ll focus on what possibilities 3D printing creates for people working in the field of photography or filmmaking: from replacing lens caps or projector parts to the full 3D printing of a functional camera.
The workshop will be led by filmmaker and animator Victor Van Rossem. For the past few months, Van Rossem has been a filmmaker-in-residence at Atelier OFFoff where he has been printing parts for the 16mm Time-Slice camera he works with.
Duration: maximum 4 hours, from 13:30 — 17:30
Maximum: 6 participants (in order to keep it practice-based)
Deadline: Please register before Wednesday January 22
First come first served. In case of a high number of applications, we’ll make a selection based on the profiles of the candidates. Please sign up through the red reservation button.
